My Programs

The Online 1-on-1 format is a powerful, dynamic, sensible and accessible program that is genuinely for anyone willing to take the necessary actions to help themselves.

Who is Grief Support Online for?

This format is designed for those who do not have easy access to a Grief Recovery Specialist, or prefer working on-line, as opposed to in-person. This format will allow you privacy in discussing your emotional pain with a trained professional, who has used the same tools they are offering you to deal with the heartbreak that has impacted their life!

Grief Support online (one-on-one) program:

1 hour session is $100

4 x 2 hour sessions (4 week program) $750 – can be paid on a per session basis

8 x 1 hour sessions (8 week program) $800 – initial payment of 4 sessions, then on a per session basis.

There is no commitment beyond week to week; however, it is recommended that you give the process adequate time (usually at least five weeks). If we are entering into the Grief Recovery Method process that time is a minimum of 8 weeks.

All sessions are tax-free services.

Grief support groups offer a safe, evidence-based environment for grievers to take effective and lasting action, no matter the type of loss experienced.

More about Grief Support Groups

What are Grief Support Groups?

Grief Support Groups provide a safe environment for you to look at your old beliefs about dealing with loss. You’ll do 8-week in group format depending on your availability.  It’s not a drop-in group. You will learn about all types of loss and you will choose what loss you want to focus upon.

Who is it for?

Anyone who suffers from grief no matter what the cause. There are over 40 loss experiences including death, divorce, moving, pet loss, change in financial status and loss of trust.

How do I know if I need it?

Although there are no stages or feelings that every single griever experiences there are some common symptoms of grief.

If you:

  • Have experienced any of these losses
  • Have a broken heart
  • And want to feel better
  • Joining a Grief Recovery Support Group can help

Do you relate to any of these?

  • Do you feel tired?
  • Do you feel emotionally drained?
  • Do you pretend to be happy?
  • Do you isolate?
  • Have your eating or sleeping patterns changed?
  • Do fond memories of your loved one turn painful?

If you answered yes to any of these you are probably experiencing unresolved grief.

The Helping Children with Loss Program was created to help parents, teachers, and school counselors develop an understanding of grief and coping skills that they can pass on to the children in their lives.

How do I communicate with children about losses?

The vast majority of parents and teachers find themselves at a loss when trying to help their children deal with any grieving experience that impacts them. This 4-week program is designed to teach parents, and others who work with children, the necessary tools to help children effectively deal with their broken hearts, no matter the loss they are facing.

What is grief?

Grief is the normal and natural emotional response to a loss, but most of the information we’ve learned about dealing with loss is intellectual.

Grief is the conflicing feelings caused by the end of, or change in, a familiar pattern of behavior.

Effective grief recovery must deal with your broken heart, which requires emotional support instead of intellectual explanations.

The problem

People say you have to move on with your life after a loss, however, they don’t tell you how.

The solution

The Grief Recovery Method 1-on-1 program teaches you how to recover from loss with supportive guidance every step of the way. The 1-on-1 Action Program is exactly what it suggests. You’ll have the opportunity to work on your own recovery guided by Michael Smith, Advanced Grief Recovery Method Specialist, certified by the Grief Recovery Institute.

The Grief Recovery Method® is a series of steps specifically designed to help you complete the unfinished business generated by any loss within a set timeframe.

Grief can appear in many different circumstances.

In fact, my program identifies over 40 different types of loss.

What to expect from this process

Unresolved grief is almost always about the things we wish we’d said or done differently, better, or more. It’s the unrealized hopes, dreams, and expectations we had for the relationship or circumstances that no longer are. Furthermore, unresolved grief is about undelivered communication of an emotional nature.

In our sessions, we’ll explore these facets of your loss, and discuss what it takes to find closure in your life, so that you can process and move on.

If you’re on the fence about receiving counseling, don’t spend another day, season, or year distracting yourself or continuing to believe that you can wait it out. No matter how new or old your loss is, this system is for you.

“What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply become a part of us.”
